| Aug 7, 2007: The SNA Slater Wight Memorial Award was created in 1956 by John B. Wight, Sr. – in honor of his brother – to recognize those within the industry who have made contributions to enhance the nursery industry. The Southern Nursery Association (SNA) Board of Directors makes the nominations for this award. The 2007 recipient of this distinguished award is Richard Vanlandingham of Cairo, Ga. Vanlandingham is the 52nd winner to receive this prestigious SNA award. |

Laird, Sr., is designed to honor men and women within the SNA 16 participating states who have displayed commitment to and leadership in the horticulture industry. For consideration, recipients must be 39 years of age or younger as well as members of their respective state nursery associations. This year’s award winner is Erik Tietig, vice president of Pine Island Nursery and Tree Farm, in Miami, Fla. |
